CANCUN!!!!

Cancun was amazing!!! It was so fun to be all together as a family :) There's too much to try and recount everything but some of the highlights were:

-Viva Wyndham Maya hotel: all inclusive food and shows every night! (for your viewing pleasure, there was a Las Vegas Show, Full Moon Show, Mr. Maya, Moulin Rouge, Mexican Folklore, etc... oh golly.) This is Jakey and the view from our balcony!

-Scuba diving!!!!!!!! Such beautiful water and so many fish! I saw a seahorse, big turtles, GIANT crab, a HUGE eel (ew!!!!), starfish, neat shells, and lots and lots of coral. We had fun making up signs like "Where's VeetVee?" (Caleb's nickname) and the boys made up some more that I still don't understand...

-Snorkeling at Xel-ha: The boys discovered some underwater caves that were AWESOME. We had some cool adventures swimming around all day and cliff jumping!

-Tulum ancient ruins-our tour guide had TERRIBLE english, and we had fun trying to understand him. Baha!! "Ehhhhcology"

-Chichenitza ancient ruins-we went with an LDS tour company that was AMAZING! The tour guide, Miguel, was so nice and fun! We figured out that he was the missionary "grandfather" of Elder Ryan Wells (who married one of my best buds-Kelsey Lee Wells)! Such a small world.

-Swimming in a CENOTE-underground river thing. Also cliff jumped here, but it was kinda cold.

-Seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 4 for family night!

-Swimming with DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures coming...

-Swimming through the underground rivers at Xcaret with the fam. It was kind of dark and creepy though.

-The show at Xcaret! So cool-it's kind of the Mexican Disneyland, and the show had live birds and fire, dancing, singing, cool bands playing, some odd forms of flamenco, pretty girls, beautiful dresses...

-Working out in the gym with Hector-a funny little man from the Dominican Republic who plays the piano at the hotel and teaches the water dancing class. He blew in my face to try to cool me off! All the machines in the gym go by kilometers instead of miles, so I biked a 16k a few times and ran a 5k. It was fun!

-Listening to Adele in the car with the whole family-the only CD we brought with us. The whole family is now hooked.

-Helping Karen with her art project. I can't seem to upload the video, but I'll work on it.

-Being treated like a Princess-I loved how the staff was so respectful, always opening doors, pulling out chairs, putting my napkin in my lap, carrying my luggage, escorting me where I needed to go instead of just pointing in the general direction, etc.

-Lying on a beach under the sun for 6 days, listening to the waves :)

The only real downside was that our flight home got delayed, so we waited in the Cancun airport for about 3 hours. Then, there were storms in Charlotte, NC where we had our layover. The power went out in the airport, and we were stuck there for about 4 extra hours, so we didn't get home until 5:30 am. It was a rough night, but the trip was so worth it.
